How to Attack Body Fat Naturally

By Michael A. Smith, MD

How to Attack Body Fat NaturallyWhy is burning body fat so critical? Because new studies show there is a significant decrease in resting energy expenditure as humans age. If you’ve ever wondered why diet and exercise so often fail to produce meaningful weight loss, scientific research shows that with normal aging, metabolism slows significantly, while body fat mass increases.

Up until now, people seeking to lose body fat had to boost their resting metabolic rate with compounds that produce unpleasant stimulating effects. As a matter of fact, some of these metabolic boosters have been removed from the market due to dangerous side effects.
The good news is that there are safe and effective methods for burning or “attacking” body fat. Here are three steps for attacking body fat naturally.

For details, watch our video … Attack Body Fat.

Restore Insulin Sensitivity1

Insulin is the hormone responsible for directing blood sugar into cells and tissues. As we gain weight, the body’s ability to utilize insulin begins to dysfunction. This dysfunction leads to excess blood sugar which converts into body fat.

The body does not waste energy; it either burns it or stores it. Insulin resistance forces the body to store more energy as body fat.

Here are three suggestions for restoring normal insulin sensitivity and function:

  1. Vanadyl Sulfate
  2. Lipoic Acid
  3. Irvingia gabonensis

Block Carbohydrate Absorption2-3

The American diet culprit is refined sugars. Simple carbohydrates spike blood sugar levels after meals and can result in more insulin dysfunction. By slowing down the absorption of sugars into the bloodstream, blood sugar spikes are minimized and insulin function is preserved.

The potential result is less conversion of sugars into body fat. Three suggestions for blocking carbohydrate absorption include:

  1. White Kidney Bean
  2. Bladderwrack (seaweed)
  3. L-Arabinose

Increase Resting Metabolic Rate4

Increasing your metabolic rate, burning more calories at rest, forces your body to “tap” into stored body fat to supply the increased energy demand. Nutrients that help to increase your metabolic rate include:

  1. Fucoxanthin (brown seaweed)
  2. 7-Keto DHEA
  3. Green Tea Extract

As I'm fast approaching 70, I find that increased BMI is a real problem. With bone injuries sustained in Vietnam, it is real hard to exercise, so, taking suggestions from the post to restore insulin sensitivity and eating more white beans and seaweed might be a great option for someone like myself.

Some excellent information here. Diet is so important in sustaining a healthy lifestyle.

I regularly exercise in the gym but am always looking for nutrition tips. I knew green tea extracts increase metabolism, but had no idea that brown seaweed can increase the metabolic rate.

Great post!

The properties of any specific fat molecule depend on the particular fatty acids that constitute it. Different fatty acids are composed of different numbers of carbon and hydrogen atoms. Thanks.
